A Word for VT

Terrible. The whole situation is terrible, but there is no reason to give it this much coverage. There's a real problem with the news, always has been, the sensationalism that is rampant as they flock over tragedy like a swarm of locusts over freshly planted crops. How many times can we hear conjecture after hypothesis, followed by a fact or two which only leads to more conjecture. And some people truly disgust me, these men and women who wait for these things to happen so they can trot out their, violent video games are at fault. Every time I hear that argument, I want to grab a gun and shoot them in the face. It's so silly, and to use a tragedy like this to propel them forward? Way to be a human being.

It's horrible, what else do you want to know about it? Maybe if they didn't put the shooter on every front page and on ever news site and channel and radio station, people wouldn't do this, because the next one will just be bigger and then bigger, until every week some nut with a gun is vying for the front page. But hey, these issues run deep and we're a sports blog, so how do you transition from one to the other?

We can't do it smoothly, because life isn't smooth, and on that note, this is my favorite time of year. NHL playoffs, NBA playoffs, NFL Draft, and baseball beginning. I hope I can do a draft day commentary, but I don't think I can. Oh well, listen. Enjoy it people, you never know how long you have on this earth, and it's the little things in life that make the world a good and decent place. It's a sea of shit out there, but try and find an island once in a while, you know? Well, happy sailing people.
